Bernwode Brokat was imported from Germany as a two year old. He represented GB in international competitions and was Team Reserve in 2013, gaining ‘Elite’ status with the SPSS.  Brokat was awarded the title of ‘BEF Leading Sire of Sports Ponies” in 2009, 2010 & 2011, the prestigious SPSS Dancer Medal in 2009 and the ultimate SPSS Trophy in 2012 in recognition of his contribution to British breeding and international competition.

Bernwode Evelina-S was born in Holland and is graded with the NRPS, Weser-Ems and SPSS. Evie is an outstanding broodmare consistently producing top quality foals. In addition to her graded son, Benedict, she is also dam of the 2008 Futurity Highest marked Sport Pony yearling, a full sister to Benedict, and in 2009 her yearling son gained a coveted ELITE premium for which she was awarded as the Futurity ‘All Years’ “Leading Dam of Sports Ponies”. Evie’s dam line includes the notable New Forest sires Merrie Moscan and Merrie Mercury.

Prins Alfred is a part bred Arabian recognized in Holland as a brilliant and much utilised sport pony producer. He competed successfully in both Show Jumping and Dressage and has sired many Champions and Keur & Ster daughters.

Bernwode Benedict, aka Becks, was the first UK bred, and SPSS passported stallion to successfully grade in the UK.

Becks spent 4 years working with the stud course students at Hartpury College, showing his brilliant attitude and easy going nature. Becks also offered several of the smaller students an opportunity to train and ride in the Hartpury stallion displays and compete at affiliated Dressage. Becks was placed on each of these dressage outings scoring up to 72%.

Alongside his trainable temperament and uphill movement this little stallion had a tremendous, scopey jump and happily hacked out with any horse, including mares.

Becks then moved to Cornwall in 2013 where, with his last owner, he proved to be a triumph in the showing world, winning and taking Reserve Champion first time out.

Offspring/Breeding Advice

Bernwode Benedict’s first foals were born in 2010 being very much stamped by their sire’s looks. Eventing foal Hartpury Rockstar, scored 18/20 for Athleticism at his Futurity Evaluation and Winston was awarded 1st Premium as Dressage pony yearling & Reserve High Score.

In 2013, a filly foal, Welford Bella (out of Sandra), received a High First Premium as a dressage pony foal and a colt foal, Cornsay Cognac (out of Cornsay Sloe), got a High First as an Eventing pony.
