Teddy is a very promising young stallion by the legendary Dutch pony stallion Kanshebber.  The list of FEI ponies that have been sired by Kanshebber is impressive and at least one of his progeny have competed at every Pony European Championship from 2010 to 2019, most in show jumping, but also in eventing and dressage.  In both 2018 & 2019, 3 ponies by Kanshebber competed at the FEI Pony European Championships.

Teddy combines his stunning good looks with a very trainable attitude. He is extremely scopey, highly intelligent and has an amazing gentle temperament. Teddy is stabled on a mixed yard and handled and trained daily by a young rider. Everyone who meets him comments on his calm outlook and the vet and farrier are constantly amazed by him.

Teddy has just started his riding career and true to character is taking everything in his stride. he will be produced as an eventer but he has the scope and ability to succeed in any sector. Definitely a pony to keep in mind to produce future sports ponies. Teddy stands at Redlands Stud in East Sussex.

Sire: 

Teddy's sire is the legendary Dutch pony stallion Kanshebber who had exceptional qualities and was both an international jumping stallion and the sire of FEI international ponies across all 3 disciplines (something achieved by very few pony stallions). 

Kanshebber‘s dam, Daisy Brown, was a top jumping pony and was the 1986 Pony European Championships Individual Gold medallist in San Remo (ITA), ridden by Simone Meulman (NED).  His sire, the 1.55m pure Arab Krimh, won the Dutch Championship at Z level combined and competed at ZZ level jumping and Z2 dressage.

The list of FEI ponies that have been produced by these breeding lines is immense with ponies by Kanshebber competing for countries across Europe.

In both 2018 & 2019 three ponies by Kanshebber jumped in the European championships, no small feat for a stallion

Kanshebber's progeny that have competed at the Pony European Championships include:

• KADANS VAN ORCHID'S competed for Norway at the 2019 Pony Euros (SJ) (dam: Orchid's Golden Girl by Milton)

• KAMIREZ VAN ORCHID'S competed for Belgium at the 2018 Pony Euros (SJ) (dam: Orchid's La Sianthera by Kantje's Ronaldo)

• KANDOR VAN ORCHID'S competed for Belgium 6 times at the Pony Euros (Eventing), every year from 2010 to 2015 (Dam:  Orchid's Pammela by Milton)

• KARIM VAN ORCHID'S competed for Germany at the 2019 Pony Euros (SJ) and was member of the 4th placed team and 6th individually and also competed at the 2018 Pony Euros (dam: Orchid's Celestyi by Kantje’s Ronaldo)

• KARL VAN ORCHID'S competed for Belgium at the 2017 Pony Euros (SJ) (dam: Kantjes Flaneur by Waterhof's Pretendent)

• KOSMO VAN ORCHID'S competed for the Netherlands at the 2014, 2016 & 2017 Pony Euros (SJ) (dam: Orchid's Black Star by Kantje's Carlando)

• KYRA competed for Belgium at the 2012 Pony Euros (SJ) (dam: Goiya Van Stal Goiya's by E Boy)

• ORCHID'S ARISSIA competed for Germany at the 2019 Pony Euros (SJ) and was member of the 4th placed team and 22nd individually (dam: Orchid's Rosy Dawn by Kantje's Carlando)

• ORCHID'S CENDA competed for Belgium at the 2018 Pony Euros (SJ) (dam: Orchid's Cameron by Kantje's Ronaldo)

• ORCHID'S SYRIA competed for Belgium at the 2015 Pony Euros (Dressage) and then internationally for the Netherlands & Germany with her next riders (dam: Orchid's Pretty by Waterhof's Pretendent)

Many more are competing in FEI International and national pony classes across Europe.

Dam: 

Orchid's Ceana is a Nederlands New Forest Pony (NNFP) whose damsire, Marits Mistique is also the sire of an FEI dressage pony, Kulberg's Lancelot who competed internationally for the Netherlands in 2012/13.  Ceana is also the dam of:

• Summer 44 (originally named Orchid's Serica), who is by Kantje's Ronaldo, was born in 2007 and has Show Jumped in Germany, wining over 1.7K Euros as well as having a foal in 2007 (by FS Champion de Luxe) who has also won money in German Show Jumping classes. 

• Orchid's Nanette, by Kantje's Carlando, a 1.10m jumping pony in Belgium;

• Orchid's Leco by Kristall Van Orchid's (by Kanshebber), her 2019 foal.

Damsire: 

Teddy’s dam is by the top performance Netherlands New Forest pony Berkhof’s Higgledy Piggledy who has been so influential in the breeding of so many European sports ponies in all 3 disciplines.  Higgledy Piggledy himself competed at Z jumping and M dressage.

Teddy was accepted at his SPSS grading as an inexperienced 3 year old.  In 2020/21 he started his riding career and true to character is taking everything in his stride.

He will be produced slowly as an eventer but he has the scope and ability to succeed in any sector.
