Sire:

With his proven German Riding Pony heritage, SPSS graded Bathleyhills Monet is a modern sports pony sire who is also registered PB Arab (26.98%) and PB Welsh (20.3125%). Reserve Champion at his SPSS Grading as a 2 year old, Monet was awarded an Oldenburg Society Foal Premium then, as a Yearling, he gained Elite Status & was Top Yearling Pony in the BEF Futurity. His sire, Casino Royale K was Champion Stallion at his Licensing & double Bundeschampion. His dam, Mona, was a Premium graded Westfalen mare awarded Silver Medals in 1992/93. She produced at least 3 licensed stallions, including a Licensing Champion, before import to the UK. Mona was awarded the “Leading Sports Pony Dam” Certificate of Merit by the BEF in 2010.

Dam:

Bathleyhills Dream In Colour is a CHAPS passported bay tobiano who was graded by the SPSS as a 3 year old in 2011.  She was the first coloured foal to carry the Bathleyhills prefix and and has the most fabulous temperament, conformation and movement. As  a foal she was 2nd in the Foal Futurity (Part Bred) at the CHAPS Summer Championships 2008 and then was 5th in the Foal Futurity Finals Eve Performance.  Her dam, WPCS Sec B Rohey Sparkling Maydream, was also graded by the SPSS achieving 78% and going into the Main Studbook. Rohey Sparkling Maydream's other Bathleyhills prefix progeny have achieved Futurity Elite (Bathleyhills Dream Boat in 2013); placed 2nd in the 2012 HOYS Search For A Star (5 year old Bathleyhills Chocolate Dream).  Her sire, Wian Mab Spruce was WPCS Centenary Ridden Section B Champion and won Silver and Bronze WPCS Medals both in hand and ridden.

Damsire:

Acado was bred in Germany then imported to the UK where he was graded by the SPSS in 2006 then by CHAPS in 2007.  His dam, Beauty was a Verband Premium and Head Studbook mare whose dam, Brock Ballerina, was a New Forest pony.  Acado's sire, Acamani was licensed in Germany by 4 studbooks - Meclenburg, Rhienisches, ZFdP and Brandenburg-Anhalt - and sired 3 German licensed sons.

Performance

As a foal, Peter impressed two different judges to be both the Champion Show Hunter Pony and Champion Sports/Competition Pony at the British National Foal of the Year Show.  As a yearling he did well at County Shows including winning the Welsh Part-bred foal/yearling class and was 2nd in the Show or Hunter Pony foal/yearling class at Derbyshire County, winning the CHAPS (UK) Non-Native Youngstock Qualifier at Nottinghamshire County, Reserve Champion (CHAPS) at Lincoln County and won the Show Hunter at Midlands County.

Then, as a 2 year old, Peter was awarded a Gold Premium by the SPSS

In 2019, Peter was presented to the Futurity again as a 3 year old and gained a Gold Premium.  He received 9s for his frame and walk, 8.5 for trot and 8.25 for canter, which with the excellent vet marks of 9 & 9.5 gave him an overall score of 8.8 - the highest score overall 3 year old Sports Ponies that year.

Peter was also presented to the SPSS for licensing in 2019 and was the top scoring colt on the day and the Reserve Champion of the Northern Region.  The grading judges commented that he his head & neck were "very pleasing & well set" and that his trot showed "good rhythm and use of forearm".

Peter was backed after the grading and he is entered for the 2020 Competition Stallions Parade on the 8th February at Addington Manor EC where he will be shown under saddle.

Offspring/Breeding Advice

Bathleyhills Stud are thrilled with Peter’s conformation and movement and believe that he is an exceptional addition to their breeding programme as he combines the excellent breeding of his sire with the equally good lines in his dam’s pedigree.

There is also the 50% chance of him passing on the dilute gene and his progeny then being palomino, buckskin or smokey black and also a 50% chance of him passing on his tobiano gene and his progeny being white and another colour (depending on the mare's colour and if he also passes on his dilute gene).
