He continued to win in Europe & has left many outstanding progeny. His dam Weston Twiggy was unshown but produced sixteen foals which have been of major importance in the more recent history of the Welsh Section B as this line is influential

Performance

Renoir is a young stallion starting out on his ridden career. A Champion as a foal at the British National Foal of the Year Show. and unbeaten as a yearling in-hand in breed classes, Renoir shows natural talent over a fence and has three good natural, balanced paces.

Renoir was crowned the 2017 SPSS Stallion Grading Supreme Champion as a 4 year old, and was described as a ‘very correct and athletic pony stallion’. Renoir scored 10/10 for his head & neck & a 9/10 for his loose jumping – gaining a score of 84.64% judged by Hans-Heinrich Brüning & Jacke Mathieson.

At home Renoir is ridden by a 13 year old proving his temperament is exceptional. Both sire & dam lines are full of animals that have proven themselves as performance ponies. Renoir has caught the eye of several eminent dressage trainers in 2017 & it is firmly believed that he has the talent & ability to go to the top level as a dressage pony.

At the 2018 National Pony Society (NPS) Dressage Championships, Renoir and 13 year old Megan Austin won both the Prelim and Novice Finals to qualify them for the Championship where they had to perform a dressage to music freestyle in front of judge Jennie Loriston-Clarke. Despite it being a log and tiring day for both Mega and 5 year old Renoir and it being their first public attempt at their freestyle, they were rewarded with a score of 78.61% and the overall title of NPS Supreme Dressage Champions.

Offspring/Breeding Advice

In 2017 the Longhalves Stud had the first foal on the ground from Renoir, Longhalves Heir Apparent. This young colt was Supreme Champion in breed classes and is highly thought of, having correct conformation, beautiful paces & an outstanding temperament.

With Renoir’s excellent conformation, wonderful athleticism and fantastic temperament he has the potential to reduce the height of the mare without compromising on quality, movement or performance ability.
