Sire:

Synod Moses, is a WPCS Sec C bred by the famous Synod Stud who not only has sort after Welsh C blood lines and presence but also passes on his incredible temperament. He is a perfect stamp of a Welsh C with a leg in each corner and a beautiful head.  His daughter Kinsale Kurley Sue (out of the TB Answer Back) competed at BE Eventing as a 6 to 9 year old moving from BE80 to Novice up with top 10 placings at BE90 and BE100 and clear XC round Novice tracks.  Kurley Sue then moved to France where she mainly competed in showjumping but did some dressage and eventing too.  Synod Moses is also the sire of Kinsale Nitalia (out of a mare by Nintender (Vegas R)), another who is  competing in France, again primarily in showjumping but with some dressage and eventing results too.  Other progeny out competing include Princess Synod (who did BE in 2017) and Gentle Touch (show jumping in Ireland in 1m and 1m10 pony classes).

Dam:

Squirtle is a 6 time winning thoroughbred mare who ran over 1m4f and was placed 21 times.  Squirtle adds both stamina and elegance to Fire Light's pedigree. Standing at 15.1hh and liver chestnut with long white stockings and unusual facial markings, she has the sweetest temperament and is not your average thoroughbred but she is perfect for breeding quick thinking ponies with stamina and bravery. Her French-bred dam, Manilia, is by Kris who is said to have dominated British racing over one mile in 1979 and then was a successful breeding stallion, siring the classic winning fillies Oh So Sharp and Unite and being Leading sire in Great Britain & Ireland in 1985.  On her damline, Manilia descends from the Northern Dancer son Nureyev who, as a racehorse was best known as the disqualified "winner" of the 2000 Guineas in 1980, then sired 135 stakes winners and more than twenty champions.

Damsire:

In The Wings, who won the US$2 million Breeders' Cup Turf in 1990, is a direct son of Sadler's Wells  out of a mare by Shirley Heights.  Sadler's Wells, was named the French Champion Miler in 1984 after winning the Irish 2000 Guineas, Eclipse Stakes, Phoenix Champion Stakes then was the leading sire in Great Britain and Ireland 13 years on the run (14 times in total) and is acclaimed as one of the most influential sires of all time.  In The Wings damsire, Shirley Heights (by Mill Reef) won the 1978 Derby and Irish Derby before his racing career was ended by injury. He went on to be a highly successful sire.

Performance

In 2020, as a 2 year old, Fire was licenced by the WPCS then presented for SPSS eAssessment and given a provisional SPSS licence for 2020 and 2021 prior to being seen at a full SPSS Grading in mid-late 2021.

Fire will be backed and produced by Emily Dove and Kinsale Stud hope he will follow his sire's older progeny (including Kinsale Kurley Sue who is also 50% TB)  into the competition arena in due course.

Offspring/Breeding Advice

Fire is a straight moving correct pony with the most amazing kind temperament and a willingness to please. He has three uphill expressive paces with a ground covering walk showing the elegance of his thoroughbred dam.  He shows natural balance in trot and canter with good elevation and athleticism.

Fire's correct conformation means he will compliment a multitude of mares and his TB x Welsh is a proven cross for producing sports ponies.

2021 is Fire's first season at stud.

As a 2 year old in 2020
