Sire: Joldis Charmant was Reserve Champion of his grading, completed his 30 day performance test in 2007 and competed in Germany (under the name Charmant 41), winning at L Level. His sire, FS Champion De Luxe was Bundeschampion as a 3 and 4 year old, performance test Champion and is a renowned sire.
Dam: Hilkens May Angel has 3 over progeny competing in Germany with the most succesful being Hilkens Marisa (by Danny Gold) who has won competing at dressage wwith wins at L1* and A2* levels and top 6 places at A and A1* levels.
May Angel's dam, Mahrdorf Mady competed in dressage and jumping and is by Dino B who, like May Angel's sire, is from the famous "D" line of ponies crossed with Valentino as his damsire. Through her dam, Miranda, Mady descends from Magister who was the damsire of Daylight MW, who was vice-Bundeschampion aged 4 then came to the UK as a competition pony and was awarded SPSS Elite graded status due to her international pony dressage record.
Damsire: Arts-Dancer-Boy is one of 4 four very successful full siblings by the hugely influential German bred stallion Dancer (who was known in the UK as Broomford Dancer) out of Golden Charm (Valentino x Eckley) who were all successful. The other foals were:
Arts-Dancer-Boy himself was born in 1988 and competed to L-level dressage and, as well as siring graded stallions (including 2000 & 2001 Bundeschampion Arts-Deilahro), was also the sire of Dulcia, 2000 and 2001 Bundeschampion mare and European Dressage Pony Individual Bronze medallist in 2003, Individual Silver medallist in 2007 and Team Gold Medallist in 2003 & 2004 & 2007.
Arts-Dancer-Boy's sire, Dancer, was a fully graded and performance tested German Riding Pony stallion who was registered with the Rheinisches Pferdestammbuch (Rheinland Studbook). Dancer was one of the first ponies to represent multiple nations at Pony FEI Level. Dancer's sire was Dandy who is considered to be the foundation sire of the prolific German Riding Pony “D” line. At the 2010 Pony European Dressage Championships, 15 of the 28 German Riding Ponies competing had at least one occurrence of the sire Dandy in their pedigree. Dandy’s sire was the British Riding Pony Catherston Red Gold. Red Gold was bred by Catherston Stud’s founders, Col & Mrs Bullen, in 1960 and was sold to Germany as a yearling. Although himself a chestnut, Red Gold was double bred to the famous palomino Bubbly (Potato x Cwm Cream of Eppynt), who was National Palomino Champion ten times in England in the late 1950s and early 60s. Dancer's dam, Valerina was a daughter of the Welsh Sec B Downland Santolina who is by the famous Downland Chevalier who was a significant influence on Welsh Section B breeding. Hilkens Color Me Golden was graded in Germany and was awarded Premium status with the Hannoverian Pony Verband. He competed in a few Riding Pony classes as a 3 year old in 2010, qualifying for the Hannover region Championat for Reitponies where he finished 7th.
Since coming to the UK, Color Me Golden has only competed a little, but as a 6 year old, in a few British Showjumping shows, he achieved double clears, a win and a third at British Novice (0.90m) level. More recently he and his current owner have been competing at British Dressage and they qualified for the 2021 Summer Area Festivals at Prelim and Novice levels.

Offspring/Breeding Advice |
|
2022 will be Hilkens Color Me Golden's first year at stud in the UK.
As he is a palomino there is a 50/50 chance of his passing on his dilute gene and siring a palomino, buckskin or smokey black foal (depending on the colour of the mare).
