Classic’s Charmeur is a stunning German riding pony with an impressive European pedigree. His bloodlines go back to some superb British ponies such as Bwlch Valentino, Catherston Red Gold and the Downland dynasty that are responsible for so many of the most successful ponies in Great Britain and Europe today.
In 2016 he was awarded the coveted SPSS ELITE graded status in recognition of his representing GB in international pony dressage competitions. His progeny have done well in youngstock evaluations, including Miss Luna Eclipse who was SPSS Supreme Youngstock Champion in 2015.

Sire: Charmeur’s sire, the premium stallion Classic Dancer was crowned Bundeschampion in 2009. From his first vintage of 2007, Classic Dancer produced four licensed sons (including Classic’s Charmeur), and six state premium mares. His sire, the legendary FS Champion de Luxe, was licensing & performance test champion and double Bundeschampion. Classic Dancer’s dam, State Premium Ginette, by Golden Dancer, was champion mare of the Rhenish elite show and is the mother of six licensed sons, including the full brothers Classic Dancer I, II and III.
Dam: Charmeur’s dam, State Premium Donata is out of the elite mare Suleika. Suleika is by the Welsh Section B stallion Shalom, who originates from the great Downland dynasty of British Riding Ponies.
Damsire: Charmeur's damsire is Domingo, the outstanding Premium Stallion (by Derby via the female line of Valentino). This sire-line is highly successful particularly on the international dressage circuit and has produced top sires such as Derano Gold, Dornik B, Golden Dancer, Dressman and FS Don’t Worry. |

Classic’s Charmeur was Licensed in Germany in 2009, being brought on slowly prior to being imported to the UK in late 2012. He made a super start to his UK competition career under the guidance of 16 year old international rider Chloe Vell when they were crowned National U21’s Novice Open Champions in the Spring of 2013.
Following the 2013 stud season, Charmeur was partnered with 12 year old Megan Pomphret. Their first major outing together was at the 2013 Bury Farm High Profile Show, where they won the title of Top 6 Year Old Pony & placed 3rd overall in the 2013 SPSS Young Dressage Pony Championships, thus proving his temperament and rideability as a potential FEI pony.
In 2014, Charmeur was sold to 13 year old Ollie Booth who qualified him for the Novice Open and Elementary Restricted Winter Regional Championship in February 2015, where he was 3rd in the Elementary and 6th in the Novice. Having done their first Pony test in late 2014, Charm & Ollie also started competing at Medium level in 2015 and they achieved good scores and a number of wins and top 3 placings. As a result they were selected to represent GB at the Hickstead CDI in July 2015 and this earned Charmeur the coveted SPSS ELITE graded status.
In 2016, Ollie and Charm continued to do well in national compeitions and were again selected to represent GB, this time at the Keysoe CDIP where they were did well, being 10th in the Pony Team test, 7th in the Pony Individual and 11th in the Freestyle. They also competed at the Diepenbeek CDIPs

Offspring/Breeding Advice | |
Charmeur has an outstanding temperament, with very correct conformation and an amazing willingness to learn. He provides breeders with the opportunity to use bloodlines of some of Europe’s top International competition ponies that descend from a great British heritage together with the added bonus of a ‘creme’ gene.
His first crop of foals were born in 2014 and 2 of them are pictured below. Little Miss Sunshine gained a High First Premium at the 2014 Futurity and Miss Luna Eclipse a First Premium.
Then in 2015, Little Miss Sunshine was awarded a Premium when evaluated by the SPSS and Miss Luna Eclipse was one of only 8 youngsters to be awarded a coveted GOLD premium (which required a score of 80% or more) and then stood as Supreme Youngstock Champion at the final - see event report for photos. In 2016, and renamed Bathleyhills Luna Eclipse, 2 year old Luna was again awarded an SPSS GOLD Premium and she also graded into the SPSS Head Studbook. |
