His sire Castle Gizmo won the Horse of the Year Show “Connemara Sire of the Year” in 2016. He has 5 approved stallion sons and is renowned for his talented jumping offspring. Sired by Moy Hazy Cove who has numerous British JA showjumping offspring and from the hugely successful performance dam line of Canal Misty Fionn who competed at Grand Prix in France as did many of his offspring successfully.

His French-bred dam, SPSS Head Studbook graded mare Quelle du Netz, is a daughter of Vertuz ar Crano, whose sire, Moyglare Bruff, is one of the most noted sires of Grand Prix and international showjumpers in France. Vertuz ar Crano herself produced the Grand Prix pony Illur ar Crano.

His Damsire is the French line Jazz de Vauper, a successful showjumper by Thunder du Blin who needs little introduction as the winner of many Grand Prix Championship titles, he represented France in the European Championships as a 7 year old and has sired many grand prix successors including the Pony European Championships selected mare Holy Island Aluinn.

A young colt full of type, charisma, phenomenal movement and jump from an extraordinary proven dam and sire lines.

His results in 2017 include: Winner 2/3year old colts NECG Connemara Breed Show, Youngstock Champion and Reserve Supreme Silver Medal. Winner NPS Area4 Connemara. He was also approved as a stallion with the Sports Pony Studbook Society and was described as “A traditional type of athletic stallion” by the grading judges Hans-Heinrich Bruning & Jacke Mathieson.

Offspring/Breeding Advice

A lovely example of a traditional Connemara with proven performance lines, Royal Rein is expected to be suitable for crossing with lighter non-Connemara mares, for example TBs & Anglo-Arabs, to produce fantastic small eventers & jumpers.

Born Bay, Royal Rein carries one copy of the grey gene, so his foals may not necessarily be grey.

Available no foal no fee in his first season at stud, Royal Rein carries some of the greatest performance lines to come out of Ireland and his dam line is rare in the UK.

Available no foal no fee in his first season at stud.
