Ardbear Spirit has excellent breeding which includes prolific and famous bloodlines that have produced many top class national and international ponies.

Sire:

His sire Coosheen Thyme is a son of the famous stallion Coosheen Finn, who in turn was a son of the legendary Carna Bobby.  A full sister of Coosheen Thyme (Coosheen Dill) was 1989 "Show Jumper of the Year" in Sweden and another full sister (Coosheen Coriander) was a "Gold Medal Mare" also in Sweden.  He is also the sire of numerous HOYS, RIHS, Show Jumping & Eventing ponies.

Coosheen Thyme’s sire Coosheen Finn (two times Reserve Champion in Clifden 1973 and 1974 and winner of his class at Clifden in 1978) is a legend in Ireland - he is the only Connemara stallion whose picture you can find on a stamp. His daughters Coosheen Nutmeg and Abbeyleix Delphinium were 1980 and 1983 Supreme Champions in Clifden and he sired a lot more Class and Show winners, for example the stallion Abbeyleix Dolphin and 1994 Pony European Eventing Team Bronze medal winner, Coosheen Carraway.

Coosheen Thyme has at least two more licensed stallion sons, Clifden Silver and Gentle Dancer (in France).  Interestingly all three stallion have also Mervyn Kingsmill in their pedigree on their damside.

Coosheen Thyme's maternal grandfather, Bridge Boy was three times Supreme Champion of the Clifden National Show and has sired a lot of performance ponies, he is also grandsire of Munkholm Colooney (6th place in the Team Test at the 1999 Pony European Dressage Championship) and Caraway (pony jumping).

Dam:

Ardbear Belle was a prolific winner in-hand including the mare class at Clifden.

Damsire:

Village Boy, has been one of the most influential and prolific stallions over recent years producing multiple Horse of the Year Show and Olympia ponies with Bunowen Castle Ri and Lecarrow King being two of the most famous. Village Boy won the stallion class and was Reserve Supreme Champion at the Clifden Show. His mother is one of the greatest mares of the Connemara - Village Grey by Abbeyleix Owen out of Village Belle. Village Belle  founded one of the most important female progeny lines of the Connemara.  Village Boy's sire, Mervyn Kingsmill, also sired a lot of Clifden Winners as well as being many times first of the stallions at Clifden and his pedigree goes back to the performers Hillswood Héléna (France) and Abbeyleix Cypress.
